Chiudiamo questa sintesi sul rapporto tra il tango ed il nostro continente dedicando un’attenzione particolare alla figura di Manuel Pizarro, sia per il valore simbolico della sua esperienza, sia perché principalmente a lui, oltre che a Eduardo Bianco e Juan Bautista Deambroggio (Bachicha), who formed the band from '24 to '28 White-Bachicha, and "Tano" Genaro Esposito, the tango has its European expansion.
Manuel Pizarro (Buenos Aires 1895), bandoneon player, conductor and composer (first Batacazo - 1914), having been part of prestigious orchestras in Buenos Aires such as those of Juan Maglio "Pacho" (his teacher) and Eduardo Arolas (as a second bandoneon), arrived in France in 1920.
His artistic career in Paris is a continuous rise: reaps success in El Garron, the most famous tango club in Paris, and in many other places, including Florida, from which also facilitates its debut in October 1928, Carlos Gardel.
In 1934 he opened Chez Pizarro "and becomes a figure of reference of the tango in Paris and throughout Europe, performing in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Geneva and London.
With the outbreak of World War II opens a critical period for foreigners in Europe, Pizarro, whose assets are almost entirely confiscated, he left Paris and began a long pilgrimage, playing where possible (even in Egypt), until, in 1941 , is able to embark on a ship that comes after months in Buenos Aires. hopes to resume business, but finds that in the meantime, with the help of innovative Fresedo, De Caro, Di Sarli, the tango has changed and Pizarro, as musician, you feel more comfortable at home.
way back in 1950 in France: the tango here no longer raises a general interest, but still has a few, tenacious admirers, to whom, then, Pizarro can continue to offer "his" tango. 'S "Ambassador of Tango", aka very well deserved, he died in Nice in 1982.
Now, after decades of neglect, Buenos Aires is rediscovering the importance of his work and that of many artists, River Plate, as Pizarro, honored and made known to the Argentine tango in the world.
